There are millions of 11th gen in the world, heck since I bought mine, four of my neighbors bough 11th gen corollas. My impression of what some have reported is that if you look at the big picture it's practically a non-issue or no more than anything else. There is a reason why a lot of high end sports cars like ferrari and some BMW Mpower will cap your rpms at 4k until engine and sub components have reached the right temperature. If I'm not mistaken Aisin's K313 unit in our Corollas has a cvt fluid heater which is supposed to help with getting that fluid to right operating temperatures since most wear to CVT or any mechanical devices requires to be warmed up on those cold days before you floor it. Long story short, I’m very satisfied of the CVT so far.Ĭlick to expand.I have to agree with Jolly. Rather the same schedule as other manuals or automatics trans : check at X interval and act appropriately (or change at X interval for severe usage). Actually, you won’t find it in Toyota’s manual. The never ending urban legend of “lifetime fluid” is also frightening for some. Or confusing it with the CVT in hybrids like Prius (totally different beast). The stigma is deep, though… On forums you’ll see people blaming absolutely not transmission related issues on the fact that the car has a CVT. They are simple devices but require meticulous execution. Actually, there have been CVTs in car for 60 years. But those don’t apply to all CVTs, not even all CVTs from those brands. There is also the stigma of poor engineering from some brands: GM-Fiat (metal debris in fluid), Ford-ZF (bad O-rings), Audi-Schaeffler (missing clutch…), Honda (wrong fluid…) and of course, Nissan (bad firmware for heat control). All in all the CVT is actually faster by the numbers (from a Corolla point of view…) than the old 4AT (not to mention better mpg). Toyota addresses it with electronic fake shift points. Other associates the lack of constant up and down in revs with poor performance (drone or rubber band effect). True, if you floor the car, you may feel a slight delay. You have haters mentioning the lack of performance. Which says something, since there are now 1.5 million of them on NA roads. Close to 8 years worldwide for the specific unit in Corolla (5 years for NA) and no particular surge or trend in complaints (Consumer Reports, True Delta, JD Power) beside inevitable odd units from a man-made product. Informally, players may play three-on-three, two-on-two, and one-on-one. The tallest player is usually the center, the second-tallest and strongest is the power forward, a slightly shorter but more agile player is the small forward, and the shortest players or the best ball handlers are the shooting guard and the point guard, who implement the coach's game plan by managing the execution of offensive and defensive plays (player positioning). The five players on each side fall into five playing positions. It is a violation to lift or drag one's pivot foot without dribbling the ball, to carry it, or to hold the ball with both hands then resume dribbling. On offense, players may use a variety of shots – the layup, the jump shot, or a dunk on defense, they may steal the ball from a dribbler, intercept passes, or block shots either offense or defense may collect a rebound, that is, a missed shot that bounces from rim or backboard. Players advance the ball by bouncing it while walking or running (dribbling) or by passing it to a teammate, both of which require considerable skill. In October 2008, the Mountain Dew logo was redesigned to "Mtn Dew" within the U.S. New logos were introduced in 1996, 1998, and 2005. In 1996, PepsiCo began using a strategy it was already using with its flagship cola Pepsi, changing Mountain Dew's logo every few years. This direction continued as the logo remained the same through the 1970s, 1980s. PepsiCo (then The Pepsi-Cola Company) acquired the Mountain Dew brand in 1964, and shortly thereafter in 1969 the logo was modified as the company sought to shift its focus to a "younger, outdoorsy" generation. The fourth Mountain Dew logo, used from 1999 to 2005 The Mountain Dew logo used from 1969 to 1996 was also used on Mountain Dew Throwback when it was introduced in 2009 and was later used on special glass bottles of the drink. These returnable bottles could be found in stores and vending machines until the late 1980s. Logo Two sides of an early Mountain Dew bottle using the "Hillbilly" design. Using it as the name for the soda was originally suggested by Carl E. "Mountain Dew" was originally Southern and/or Scots-Irish slang for moonshine (i.e., homemade whiskey or poitín), as referenced in the Irish folk song " The Rare Old Mountain Dew", dating from 1882. Packaging A 1950s Mountain Dew advertisement sign in Tonto, Arizona, showing the cartoon character "Willie the Hillbilly" In 1999, the Virginia legislature recognized Tip Corporation president Bill Jones and the town of Marion for their role in the history of Mountain Dew. In 1964, Pepsico purchased the Tip Corporation and thus acquired the rights to Mountain Dew. The Tip Corporation of Marion, Virginia, bought the rights to Mountain Dew, revising the flavor and launching it in 1961. Gordon and the Hartman brothers subsequently made a deal to bottle Mountain Dew by the Tri-Cities Beverage Corporation in Johnson City, Tennessee. Enuf, was introduced to Mountain Dew when he met the Hartman brothers on a train and they offered him a sample. Ĭharles Gordon, who had partnered with William Swartz to bottle and promote Dr. Originally a 19th-century slang term for whiskey, especially Highland Scotch whisky, the Mountain Dew name was trademarked for the soft drink in 1948. Soft drinks were sold regionally in the 1930s, and the Hartmans had difficulty in Knoxville obtaining their preferred soda to mix with liquor, preferably whiskey, so the two developed their own. Tennessee bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman developed Mountain Dew as a mixer in the 1940s. Its competition includes the Coca-Cola Company's Mello Yello and Surge, and Keurig Dr Pepper's Sun Drop Mountain Dew accounted for 80% of citrus soft drinks sold within the U.S. As of 2017, Mountain Dew represented a 6.6% share of the carbonated soft drinks market in the U.S. under the name "Mountain Dew Energy" since 2010 and in Ireland since the spring of 2011. A similarly named but different-tasting product, with a recipe more similar to the original American product has been sold in the U.K. Production was extended to the United Kingdom in 1996, but was phased out in 1998. Expansions of the product line have continued to this day, including specialty offerings, limited time productions, region-specific and retailer-specific flavors of Mountain Dew. In 2001, a cherry-flavored variant called Code Red debuted. Diet Mountain Dew was introduced in 1988, followed by Mountain Dew Red, which was introduced and discontinued in 1988. īetween the 1940s and 1980s there was only one variety of Mountain Dew, which was citrus-flavored and caffeinated in most markets. In August 1964, the Mountain Dew brand and production rights were acquired from Tip by the Pepsi-Cola company, and the distribution expanded across the United States and Canada. "Bill" Jones of the Tip Corporation further refined the formula, launching that version of Mountain Dew in 1961. The rights to this formula were obtained by the Tip Corporation of Marion, Virginia. A revised formula was created by Bill Bridgforth in 1958. The original formula was invented in 1940 by Tennessee beverage bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman. Mountain Dew, stylized as Mtn Dew in some countries, is a carbonated soft drink brand produced and owned by PepsiCo. A study by Li Jin (2006) showed that great capital gains discourage selling. They are sales must be delayed due to an unfavorable market conditions caused by capital gains tax. Investors must be ready to react sensibly to these changes, taking into account the cumulative capital gains of their customers. CGT and changes to it affect trading and the stock market. The literature provides information that barriers for trading negatively affects the investors' willingness to trade, which in turn can change assets prices.Ĭompanies with tax-sensitive customers are particularly reactive to capital gains tax and its change. The CGT can be considered a cost of selling which can be greater than for example transaction costs or provisions. However, these fiscal obligations may vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Taxes are charged by the state over the transactions, dividends and capital gains on the stock market. For equities, national and state legislation often has a large array of fiscal obligations that must be respected regarding capital gains. The CGT allowance for one tax year in the UK is currently £12,300 for an individual and double (£24,600) for a married couple or in a civil partnership. If any property is sold at a loss, it is possible to offset it against annual gains. There is an additional tax that adds 8% to the existing tax rate if the profit comes from residential property. For example, in the UK the CGT is currently ( tax year 2021–22) 10% for incomes under £50,000 and 20% for higher incomes. The tax rate on capital gains may depend on the sellers income. The profit is in most cases the difference between the amount (or value) an asset is sold for and the amount it was bought for. If the profit is lower than this limit it is tax-free. This lower boundary of profit is set by the government. Antiques, shares, precious metals and second homes could be all subject to the tax if the profit is large enough. Fund savers nowadays mainly choose to save in funds via investment savings accounts.Ĭapital gains taxes are payable on most valuable items or assets sold at a profit. There is no tax on capital gains in ISKs instead, the saver pays an annual standard low rate of tax. In Sweden, the Investment Savings Account (ISK – Investeringssparkonto) was introduced in 2012 in response to a decision by Parliament to stimulate saving in funds and equities. In some countries, such as New Zealand and Singapore, professional traders and those who trade frequently are taxed on such profits as a business income. Countries that do not impose a capital gains tax include Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, the Cayman Islands, the Isle of Man, Jamaica, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and others. Not all countries impose a capital gains tax and most have different rates of taxation for individuals compared to corporations. The most common capital gains are realized from the sale of stocks, bonds, precious metals, real estate, and property. A capital gains tax ( CGT) is the tax on profits realized on the sale of a non-inventory asset. We were able to enjoy the class with no plantar fasciitis pain to spoil the fun. The toe box also is roomy, providing just enough space for our toes.īut what really impressed us about these shoes is the stability they afforded us-in fact they were so supportive and stable that we even tested them out at a Zumba class and they allowed us to get our groove on-no stumbling, pain, or catching on different surfaces. We especially appreciate that the heels of the shoe are slightly elevated, while the grip on the back of the shoe keeps your foot stable.Įven more importantly, the arches on these shoes molded to our feet and did not cause any cramping that can sometimes occur in shoes designed for plantar fasciitis. Not only did they fit perfectly, but they also are extremely light and comfortable, without causing any chafing or blisters. From the moment we put these sneakers on to test them, we fell in love with them. Having a solid set of sneakers is key to be able to enjoy everyday life with plantar fasciitis. A podiatrist from our Medical Expert Board also reviewed the content in this article surrounding plantar fasciitis and selecting shoes to help with plantar fasciitis pain. We also sought input from several podiatrists and foot ankle specialists to determine what makes a good shoe for plantar fasciitis. To come up with this comprehensive list, we evaluated 21 different shoes based on their fit, stability, responsiveness, cushioning, comfort, quality, and value. They might even help prevent plantar fasciitis from developing in the first place. The best shoes for plantar fasciitis not only reduce your heel pain, but provide enough cushioning so you can heal. To do that, you need shoes that offer a firm sole, adequate cushioning, appropriate arch support, and are comfortable enough to wear on a consistent basis. On the flip side, choosing the right footwear can really help you feel more comfortable, which in turn makes it much easier to stay active.Īnd though there are a number of different causes for this overuse injury of the thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot-such as a change in weight, activity, or footwear-you want to be sure your shoes allow you to heal instead of making the condition worse. It’s a staggering number, but it’s true: Plantar fasciitis is responsible for 80% of all cases of heel pain-a condition that is exacerbated by wearing the wrong shoes. Room looks NOTHING like the photo, to the degree that I think the photos online are heavily edited. Floor and walls peeling, raised, damaged. Hair clumps on the floor and the shower/tub area was horrendous (dirty, rusty, gross). Staff was nice at check in but the room was HORRIBLE. However, one of the most disgusting hotels I've ever stayed in. …Įasy enough to get from the airport to this hotel using their shuttle. With all of this being said, never again. At first they couldn’t assist but as we still complained they gave us another room. This is very unsanitary due to the fact that this hotel allow pets to stay in here and Covid is still ramping. They told us that they cleaned the room every two days. So we went to the front desk to find out what was the problem. Next as we finally got our key renewed and processed to the room we saw where our bed wasn’t fixed and the towels were the same from the day before. Initially, the key wasn’t working for the door which was very upsetting. My mom and I went out all day and when we returned to the hotel we went to our room. The carpets of the lobby are dirty, floor doesn’t looked mopped, etc. Following this situation, the cleanliness of the hotel is very poor. The manager was called upon but her assistance was useless as she only said sorry and didn’t came up with any solutions for us. This whole situation was an inconvenience due to us not having access to a washer machine and already having detergent on our clothes. A worker at the hotel that speak some kind of English then began to tell us that the BOTH machines are not working. The housekeeper workers unfortunately does not speak proper English so this was an inconvenience as well. After putting the coins in we called someone for assistance to ensure that we were following the correct steps. So we used the machine that didn’t had the sign, so we put our clothes along with the detergent into the machine. We went into the wash room and saw where only one machine had a “Out of service” sign however the other one didn’t. The lady told us that the washing machine was working and turned our money into coins so we could use the machine. My mom and I wanted to wash our clothes so with this being said we proceeded to the front desk. The individuals at the first desk are not helpful at all. I think Norton 360 Deluxe is the best choice, providing all of Norton’s additional features on up to 5 devices for only UAH1,840 / year. Starting at just UAH740 / year, all of Norton’s 360 packages are an excellent value. I found it super simple to set up and use, and I like how it has 256-bit AES encryption so you know your data is completely secure. With Norton’s password manager, you can store unlimited passwords, sync across unlimited devices, generate passwords, and audit your password vault. While it might not be as full-featured as standalone password managers, it’s far better than the very basic offerings of most antiviruses. Norton also provides one of the best antivirus-bundled password managers of any antivirus. In my tests, Safe Family successfully blocked dozens of inappropriate sites across a range of categories, and it could accurately determine my test device’s location. With content filtering, mobile device tracking, scheduled usage, and more, they’re the best antivirus-bundled parental controls on the market. I’m also a big fan of Norton’s Safe Family parental controls. In my testing, its anti-phishing protections blocked phishing sites and other unsafe sites more accurately than browser-based protections from Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, and its firewall detected unsafe network activity that my Windows PC’s built-in firewall missed. Norton’s additional features are very good. And Norton’s real-time protection scans all incoming downloads and running processes, blocking malware files before they can infect Windows devices. Norton scored a 100% detection rate on Windows 8, 10, and 11 devices in my tests. Its SONAR system uses machine learning to detect malware based on its behavior, so it can even detect zero-day threats that aren’t saved in any malware database. Plus, even though it includes a ton of features, Norton is still really easy to use, with an intuitive desktop app and an even better online dashboard that makes it simple to access all of Norton’s functions. Norton 360 is the gold standard of antivirus software in 2023, providing excellent malware protection as well as the best additional features of any product on the market. Norton 360 - Best PC Security Suite in 2023 Comparison of the Best Antiviruses for Windows in 2023.Numbers 6-10 of 2023‘s Top Windows Antiviruses.Kaspersky - Super intuitive with good additional features. McAfee - Unlimited device coverage and good web protection. 3.□ TotalAV - Easy-to-use antivirus with a great VPN and good optimization tools.2.□ Bitdefender - Advanced cloud-based malware detection and a ton of extras.1.□ Norton - #1 antivirus and malware protection for all Windows machines.Quick Summary of the best Windows 10 & 11 antiviruses for 2023: Overall, Norton gave me the most consistent results in my malware tests, making it my favorite Windows antivirus of 2023. Each detected a wide range of malware samples, included a comprehensive range of additional features, and did enough to keep my device fully protected. The 10 antiviruses on this list all performed really well - they’re all better than Windows Defender. Brands like Norton outperform Defender with superior malware detection, advanced cybersecurity features, and user-friendly Windows apps. After extensive testing against top antivirus solutions, I found its capabilities lacking. But I don’t think it’s a good choice overall. Windows Defender is one option - it’s free and comes preinstalled on Windows, offering cloud-based malware detection. Other programs were buggy and caused my system to slow down, while some provided good protection but were overpriced. Even some well-known brands didn’t offer the level of protection I expected, letting ransomware and spyware run on my system. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of really bad software out there. I tested dozens of antiviruses on my Windows PC, hoping to find which ones had the best malware detection rates, web protection, and extra security features for an affordable price.
